This was a commissioned piece for local poet, Mikey Cody Apollo(She/They). This is the book cover for their 2nd collection of poems. Mikey is my best friend, so when she hired me, I already knew exactly what symbols I needed to include in the work to ensure that she and her work were represented correctly.

Sunflowers because those are her favorite.

Saturn because that’s the ruling planet for Capricorn.

The Pills & Pill Bottle, because mental health is a prominent topic in her book.

Rose quartz crystals because love is another prominent topic in the book.

Melting Blue, Purple, Pink for her queerness.

The Moon for Lunacy and Menstrual cycles.

And last but not least, 8 Stars because that ls her favorite number.

Ms Lotus Fankh is a musician from Milwaukee. Fankh had a photo shoot with Milwaukee photographer, Mahdi Atif, and sent me over the photos to add an illustrative element for her album.

Aside from making fan art of my favorite milwaukee musicians, I've also worked closely with a few of them to create Album covers,  Track cover art, and even posters/flyers for their projects and shows. . 

In January of 2020, before we knew we were only at the beginning of a pandemic, myself and my friend / Milwaukee Illustrator, Whitney Salgado got together and had this amazing idea - Latine artists from Milwaukee should recreate our own version of the beloved Mexican game, Loteria!

Here are 56 artists, all of Latine heritage and all from or based out of Milwaukee. All pieces have the artists’ names so please, follow and support these artists! Many of us have prints of these pieces available for purchase under our individual sites and social medias.

In 2020, State Voices reached out to me after I was recommended to them by my dear friend and local activist, Iuscely Flores. The Non-Profit organization connected with a handful of BIPOC artists from across the country to create art relating to the 2020 uprising agains police brutality. The organization asked us to create artwork that reflected issues we were passionate about. I chose to create work that showcased community, activism lead by queer BIPOC, and the abolishment of prisons and ICE.

During the summer of 2015, I started a simple project that was meant to get me drawing on a daily basis. But as I kept drawing these portraits, I realized I was actually doing this as a tribute to the Hip Hop scene in MKE. These artists are just a few of the many talented folks in our city. Make sure you check them out, plus the many more I did not get to draw. Cutting it down to AT LEAST one artist per letter was extremely difficult- thus why a few letters got more than one portrait. BTW I am still on the lookout for someone to draw for the letter U. :D
